Holding Space, Needing Space

A virtual support group for early-career therapists

You’re holding a lot.

For your clients, supervisors, and the work itself.

It’s also a weird time to be a therapist.

It can be hard to find a space where your experience is truly heard.

The uncertainty after sessions.

The moments of self-doubt.

The emotional weight that lingers long after the hour ends.

A woman with short brown hair and glasses engaging in conversation with another person, who has red hair, in an office or modern workspace.

About the Group

This is a small, virtual support group for pre-licensed and early-career therapists who want space to process the emotional and relational side of this work.

This is not supervision or case consultation.

This is a place to be a person before being a therapist.

Why seek outside support?

Most therapists already have supervision, consultation, or colleagues they can talk to.

But there are things that may feel harder to say out loud in those spaces.

  • When someone is evaluating your work.

  • When your income or cases are tied to the relationship.

  • When you’re navigating boundaries that directly affect others around you.

That’s what makes this group different.

You’re not being evaluated here.

No one in the group has a stake in your decisions.

This is a small circle of therapists, each holding their own work, and making space for what doesn’t always have a place elsewhere.

What We’ll Explore

  • Imposter syndrome and self doubt

  • Emotional weight and burnout

  • Boundaries and overextension (at home and at work)

  • Relational dynamics with clients

  • Identity/self as therapist
